V-shape 8-cylinder engine with increased displacement has been developed in OJSC Zavolzhskiy Motor Plant (a branch of OJSC SOLLERS).

V-shape 8-cylinder petrol engines with displacement 4,67 l are produced serially with 4-cylinder engines for PAZ buses and for medium trucks of Gorkovskiy automotive plant.

In order to keep niche segment of output product and to improve its consumer characteristics the ZMZ designers under order of Pavlovskiy autobus plant developed modification of V-shape eight with displacement 5,05 l with increased power characteristics. The peculiarity of the engine is that it has potential to work on compressed natural gas.

Currently the new eight overcame evaluation tests in experimental shop of ZMZ and successfully confirmed stated technical performances on power and torque. Besides, its power on 10% higher than 8-cylinder engines produced serially.

In the near future the engine will be delivered to PAZ for testing in compartment of the bus.
