ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" has successfully past certification of the organization management system on conformity to the requirements of international automotive standard ISO/TS 16949, 2009 version.This certification was carried out by certification body «TUV-MANAGEMENT SERVICE». Validity term of this Certificate is till 2013. Annually OAO “ZMZ” will confirm its validity on the basis of control audits.

Management system of ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" was simultaneously been recertified by certification body «TUV-Management CERVICE» (Germany) and Federal state body «Rossiskiy morskoi registr sudokhodstva” (Russia) on conformity to the requirements of international standard ISO 9001:2008 and Russian standard of GOST R ISO 9001-2008 in 2009

One of the principal guiding documents of organization management system is officially declared «Policy of ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" which declare the purposes of the organization. This policy is directed to satisfaction of all present and expected needs of consumers and other interested parties.

The history of introduction of quality system (QS) begun in 1996 when the top management made a decision about introduction of quality system at ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" on the basis of requests of ISO standards of 9000 series with the purpose to increase production competitiveness

The quality system of Foundry was certificated in 1997, and the quality system of bearing production was certificated in 1998.

The quality system of all the production of ОАО " Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod " was certified on conformity to requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001:1994 and GOST R ISO 9001-96 by certification body «TUV-MANAGEMENT SERVICE» (Germany) and Russian certification body ААС АСМ-NАМI (Moscow) in 2000.

ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" changed the quality system onto the quality management system in 2001. The second inspection audit was conducted in 2002 during which efficiency of the acting quality management system was confirmed. This system met the prospective requirements of a consumer.

In 2003 during preparation to certification of QMS on conformity to requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and GOST R ISO 9001-2001 ZMZ QMS processes: main and supporting management processes were determined and detailed.

All types of ZMZ activities were defined and regulated by QMS corresponding documents. Classification model of American performance and quality improvement center (APQC) has been taken. QMS model applied during its development in OAO “ZMZ” which covered all main requirements to QMS.

After successful QMS recertification certification bodies «TUV-MANAGEMENT SERVICE» (Germany) and Federal Public Institution « Rossiskiy morskoi registr sudokhodstva » (Saint-Petersburg) issued certificates on conformity to requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and GOST R ISO 9001-2001.

In 2004 inspection audit of ZMZ QMS was performed. Positive results of audit allowed prolongation of certificate validity.

In connection with foundation of subsidiary companies (SC) from the ZMZ company : ООО «Foundry «RosALit», OOO «Spezinstrument», ООО «Remservis», ООО «Zavod «Metalloform» a new model of QMS was developed in which the representative of ZMZ quality management coordinated activity of OAO «ZMZ» in sphere of QMS and local SC QMS.

Recertification audit was performed with expansion of ZMZ & SC QMS certification area by certification bodies «TUV-MANAGEMENT SERVICE» (Germany) and state certification body « Rossiskiy morskoi registr sudokhodstva » (Saint-Petersburg) the certificates on conformity to requirements of standards ISO 9001:2000 and GOST R ISO 9001-2001 were issued.

ZMZ & SC QMS was certified in following spheres of application:

• development, production and sales of internal combustion engines and spare parts to them;
• preproduction and manufacturing of aluminum castings;
• maintenance service and repair of equipment;
• hardware design and manufacturing;
• manufacturing of parts and units for equipment;
• production of cutting tool, measuring tool and tool set;
• chemical and heat treatment of metals;
• development and production of foundry tooling and die tooling;
• production of parts and the units by a technique of cold stamping and welding.

The top management of ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" made a decision to apply the requirements of ISO/TS 16949:2002 standard to quality management system of ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" after receipt of certificates. The training was organized at all levels involving specialists from Closed Joint-Stock Company "Tzentr «Prioritet»" and " Buro Veritas Rusj" to achieve more complete understanding of the requirements of ISO/TS 16949:2002 standard by specialists».

Inspection audit of quality management system on conformity to requirements of ISO 9001:2000 was conducted by the certification body «TUV-MANAGEMENT SERVICE» (Germany) and recertification audit on conformity to requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2001 at ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" in 2006

Positive results of audit confirmed the compliance of quality management system of ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" with requirements of ISO 9001:2000 standards and GOST R ISO 9001-2001 with the result that the Certificate of conformity was issued.

Complex condition survey of quality management system of ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" with the participation of "QuaSiMa" company (Germany) was conducted with the purposes of preparation of quality management system of ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" for certification on conformity to requests ISO/TS 16949:2002 in 2006.

The result of conducted survey has shown that ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" was able to develop the quality management system successfully up to the level of conformity to requests ISO/TS 16949:2002 at organizational-motivating support by the top management..

In connection with the above-stated the strategic decision about development of the organization management system on the basis of requirements of standard ISO/TS 16949:2002 was accepted by the top management of ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod".

Inspection audit of a quality management system on compliance with requirements of ISO 9001:2000, GOST R ISO 9001-2001 was conducted by a certificate body « TUV-MANAGEMENT SERVICE » (Germany) and by auditors of Federal Public Institution - « Rossiskiy morskoi registr sudokhodstva » (St.-Petersburg) at ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" in 2007. Positive results of audit gave right for confirmation of certificate validity term for one year more.

The ecological management system on conformity to the requirements of the standard of GOST R ISO 14001-2007 was certificated in 2007.

The organization management system corresponding to the requirements of standard ISO/TS 16949:2002 was introduced at ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" in 2008 .

Principles of ecological management system are included in the organization management system. For introduction of the ecological management system all necessary procedures and «Environmental policy of ОАО "ZMZ" and purposes in the sphere of environmental safety according to requirements of the legislation and prospects of an organization development.

The recertification audit of organization management system on conformity to requirements of ISO 9001:2000 by a certificate body «TUV-MANAGEMENT SERVICE » (Germany) and the inspection audit on conformity to requests of GOST R ISO 9001-2001 by auditors of Federal state body «Rossiskiy morskoi registr sudokhodstva» (St.-Petersburg) were conducted at ОАО "Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod" in 2008

Positive results of audits confirmed conformity of ZMZ MS to requirements of standards ISO 9001:2000 and GOST R ISO 9001-2001. A certificate with validity term of three years has been confirmed for one year more.

In November 2009 ОАО "ZMZ" past successfully certification of organization management system performed by certification body "TUV-MANAGEMENT SERVICE" on correspondence to requirements of international automotive standard ISO/TS 16949 version 2009 .

In 2009 ZMZ management system was simultaneously recertified by certification body "TUV-MANAGEMENT SERVICE" (Германия) and Federal state body «Rossiskiy morskoi registr sudokhodstva» (St.-Petersburg) on correspondence to requirements of international standard ISO 9001:2008 and Russian standard GOST R ISO 9001-2008.

In march 2010 ОАО «ZMZ» was presented a certificate of OMS conformance (ОАО «ZMZ») to requirements of international standard ISO/TS 16949 version 2009 with validity term till February 2013. ZMZ became a first Russian engine manufacturing enterprise which certified its organization management system according to ISO/TS 16 949.

In 2010 OMS inspection audit was performed in ОАО "ZMZ" on conformity to requirements of ISO/TS 16949:2009, GOST R ISO 9001-2008 by certification body "TUV-MANAGEMENT SERVICE" (Germany) and federal state body «Rossiskiy morskoi registr sudokhodstva» " (St.-Petersburg). Positive results of audit gave right for confirmation of certificate validity term for one year more.
