OAO «Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod» (ZMZ) belongs to OAO “SOLLERS”.

Date of ZMZ establishment is the 17-th of April 1958.

The main function of the plant: The enterprise produces over 80 internal combustion engine modifications with displacement from 2, 2 l up to 4,67 l, corresponding to modern environment standards, for vehicles of type: SUV, LCV, buses of PAZ type; and also spare parts to them.

Main customers of ZMZ engines are OAO “Uljanovskiy automobilniy zavod”, OAO “Pavlovskiy avtobus”

Geography of OAO “ZMZ” supplies covers Russia, Germany, CIS countries, South-East Asia and Latin America.

Trade mark of OAO “ZMZ” is in Customs List of intellectual property objects.

During its history “Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod” produced more than 14 000 000 engines of all modifications.

Since January 2008 ZMZ started large-scale production of “Euro-3” 4- cylinder petrol and diesel engines and petrol 8-cylinder V-shape engines.

Since November 2005, OAO “ZMZ” started large-scale production of small displacement diesel engines ZMZ-5143 (2.2 l) for vehicles “UAZ-Hunter” of OAO “UAZ” and sells in aftermarket on orders of third-party firms.

Supplies of ZMZ-5143 engines for Ministry of Defense started in 2009.

Since start period of large-scale production, taking into account results of 2010 OAO “ZMZ” supplied to its customers more than 15 000 diesel engines ZMZ-5143.

OAO “ZMZ” has its own R&D base and testing facilities.

In 2009 OAO "ZMZ"has got new accreditation Certificate for Testing Center “Motor” that is in Design division, on technical competence in certification system GOST R and international standard ISO with validity term till 2014. Given document gives right for the center “Motor” to hold certification tests of automotive industry production particularly petrol and diesel engines, assemblies and components for them as of local so of foreign automotive producers.

Management system of OAO “ZMZ” is certified by «TUV SUD MANAGEMENT SERVICE» (Germany) ) on correspondence to requirements of international automotive standard ISO/TS 16949 version 2009 and «Russian Register» (Russia) on correspondence to requirements of international standards ISO 9001 (2000) and standard GOST R ISO 9001-2008.

In October 2010 OAO “ZMZ” according to rules of certification on results of inspection audits got confirmation of validity of Certificates on system GOST R and ISO/TS 16 949 for one year more.

In May 2010 boards of OAO”ZMZ” and “UAZ” directors decided about foundation of single management structure for both enterprises. Since 11^th May 2010 General director of OAO”ZMZ” and “UAZ” has been appointed Sergei Jurasov

In 2010 ZMZ started realization of R&D and preplanning projects on diesel engine according to EURO-4 with fuel supply system-Common Rail for perspective models of vehicles UAZ. In 2011 all model range of engines will be mastered with requirements EURO-4.

Preplanning has been done and since November large-scale supplies of bifuel engines ZMZ -409 started for vehicles UAZ (wagon type ), UAZ Patriot, and UAZ-Cargo equipped with gas tanks .

Strategy on Diversification of production is realized and strategy on introduction of projects on output of automotive components under orders of enterprise inside SOLLERS group and also other international automotive companies which work in RF territory.

Cooperation with ‘FORD” company goes abroad of Russian market. Since September 2010 supplies of components (brackets CD) are made to Europe- for Ford plant in Germany and Spain.

Production of steering gear was mastered and large-scale supplies started for vehicles UAZ. Preproduction was made and since 1^st quarter 2011 large-scale supplies of updated clutch of own design have started for petrol engines of UAZ perspective vehicle range.

Since 2003 Zawolzhsky Motorny Zawod is making activity on development of its own manufacturing system on the basis of introduction of Toyota Production System (TPS) elements , this system is directed on improvement of production organization, improvement of quality and decrease of costs.

- It is included in "white list" of Greenpeace enterprises propagandizing openness in sphere of environment protection. In 2009 shares of OAO “ZMZ ,according to annual evaluation of business ecological efficiency, have been in portfolio of ecological stock index NERAX-Eco on 2010.

- Repeatedly « Leader of the year » Honorable Standard of the governor of Nizhniy Novgorod region is awarded for achievements in production improvement, development of high technologies, manufacturing of competitive products and fulfillment of social and economy development plans.

- « Leader of the Volga region business » in a nomination "Automobile industry" for high results of industrial activity and the significant contribution to development of economy of Privolzhsky Federal District.
