OJSC «Zavolzhsky Motor Plant» (ZMZ) belongs to OJSC “SOLLERS”.

Date of ZMZ establishment is the 17-th of April 1958.

The main function of the plant: production of internal combustion engines, displacement from 2, 2 l up to 4,67 l. The enterprise produces over 80 engine versions for automobiles and buses of three Russian automobile companies: JSC " GAS ", JSC " UAZ ", JSC « Pavlovsky bus ».

 

OJSC “ZMZ” also produces spare parts for output engines.

Geography of OJSC “ZMZ” supplies cover Russia, Germany, CIS countries, South-East Asia and Latin America.

Trade mark of OJSC “ZMZ” is in Customs List of intellectual property objects.

During its history “Zavolzhsky Motor Plant” produced more than 14 000 000 engines of all modifications.

 

Since January 2008 ZMZ makes large-scale production of “Euro-3” 4- cylinder petrol engine family –ZMZ-406 with displacement 2,5 and 2,7 l for light-duty commercial vehicles and microbuses of OJSC “GAZ” and cross-country vehicles of OJSC “UAZ”, diesel engines ZMZ-5143 with displacement 2.2 l for off-road vehicles “UAZ-Hunter” of OJSC “UAZ” and petrol 8-cylinder V-shape engines for medium trucks of OJSC “GAZ» and buses, type PAZ-3207 of OJSC “PAZ”.

 

Since November 2005, OJSC “ZMZ” makes commercialization of small displacement diesel engines ZMZ-5143 (2.2 l) for vehicles “UAZ-Hunter” of OJSC “UAZ” and sale in aftermarket on orders of third-party firms.

 

OJSC “ZMZ” has its own R&D base and testing facilities .

In 2009 OJSC has got new accreditation Certificate of testing Center “Motor” that under management Head designer, for technical competence in certification system GOST R and international standard ISO with validity term till 2014. Given document gives right for the center “Motor” to hold certification test of automotive industries production particularly petrol and diesel engines, assys and components for them as of local so of foreign automotive producers.

 

 

Management system of OJSC “ZMZ” is certified by «TUV –CERT» (Germany) and «Russian Register» (Russia) on correspondence to requirements of international standards ISO 9001 (2000) and standard GOST R ISO 9001-2008.

In 2009 OJSC “ZMZ” held main certification audit of Organization management system (OMS) with positive results on correspondence to requirements of international automotive standard ISO/TS 16 949 version 2009.

In 2009 ZMZ continued R&D activities on diesel engines ZMZ-51432 with fuel supply system Common Rail (CR) in order to correspond to Euro-3 and Euro-4 requirements in compound of UAZ vehicles .

The development of double-fuel engine for application in compound of vehicles UAZ and vehicles class LCV.

Activities with “FIAT-AUTO” are continued on adaptation of engine ZMZ with displacement 2.5 l in vehicle “Fiat Ducato”.

In frames of state contract design documentation have been developed, two original samples of special engines have been produced - petrol variant (2.5 l) and diesel (2.24 l) for combined power generation systems of buses like “LiAZ” and “PAZ”

 

 

 

In 2003 Zavolzhskiy Motor Plant was the first among the Russian automotive component manufacturers that has started and holds implementation of the long-term improvement program for production organization system development, quality improvement and reduction of costs on the basis of introduction of Toyota Production System (TPS) components.

Zavolzhskiy Motor Plant is

- The winner of competition «1000 best enterprises and the organizations of Russia XXI century» in a nomination «For high business activity and effective work»,

- It is awarded with the International Prix «Gold Mercury» for the active marketing policy and high sales results,

- It ranks at the second place in the rating «Environmental responsibility of the largest enterprises of Russia» and included in "white list" of Greenpeace enterprise propagandazing openness in sphere of environment protection.

- « Leader of the year » Honorable Standard of the governor of Nizhniy Novgorod region is awarded according to the results of 2007 for achievements in production improvement, development of high technologies, manufacturing of competitive products and fulfillment of social and economy development plans.

- « Leader of the Volga region business » in a nomination "Automobile industry" for high results of industrial activity and the significant contribution to development of economy of Privolzhsky Federal District.

- It is declared the winner of IX All-Russia competition «Best Russian enterprises, 2005» in a nomination « For high financial efficiency » and XI All-Russia competition "The best Russian enterprises-2007" in a nomination “The organization with best indexes of profitability”.
